I love this Caladium as it has such a bright watermelon-pink ‘heart’ in the middle. As with all Caladiums, it can be somewhat high-maintenance, but tubers are not expensive and they are easy to plant up in pots for their beautiful foliage.

Getting the bright pink central colouring that gently diffused outwards required pre-wetting the paper to get that ‘wet-on-wet’ effect. After the paint dried, I went over the area with more colour and added tiny dots to show the pigmentation. These colours almost remind me of a watermelon, with the combination of bright green with the bright pink and the watery light green middle area.
