Begonia maculata
Begonia maculata
from £5.00
Also known as the ‘Polka Dot Begonia’, this plant has beautiful perfect white dots scattered over its green angel-wing shaped leaves. The younger leaves are bright green, and become more olive green as they age, while the underside of the leaf is a deep burgundy.
I used masking fluid when painting this leaf to protect the white paper in the areas I had drawn the dots, and then gently peeled it off once I was happy with the green. I really enjoyed building up the layers of colour to give the illusion of depth to this leaf.
