This gorgeous leaf belongs to a family of plants known as velvet leaf Anthuriums. They are prized for their distinctive leaves, and it's easy to see why.
I painted this leaf in the larger A2 size so that I could focus on the silvery veins and the finer lines radiating from the centre of the leaf. I was able to get the velvety surface of the leaf by gently lifting some of the colour using a damp brush.
