Tillandsia xerographica is an incredibly large air plant and can grow to more than 3 ft in diameter. It was almost made extinct due to poaching, but is making a comeback thanks to carefully regulated propagation.
Painting the tendrils of this specimen was lots of fun and I love how the finished painting almost looks like a sea creature with its pale blueish-green colours and tentacles!
